Why I’m running as an independent candidate

I’m running as an Independent to put our community first. I’ll listen, work hard, and deliver practical solutions that make a real difference to our community—whether that’s providing real cost of living relief for local families, securing affordable housing and healthcare, fixing our local roads, or advocating for practical climate solutions to protect our local environment.

For too long, the people of Flinders have been taken for granted. As a “safe seat,” we’ve been overlooked and underserved by the major parties. As an Independent, I won’t answer to party bosses or corporate donors. My only commitment is to the people of Flinders.

Together, we can create a future where our needs come first.

A local who knows what matters

I’ve lived and worked on the Mornington Peninsula for nearly 15 years. My wife and I have raised our daughter here and built a life together in this incredible community. I know the challenges our region faces because I’ve lived them: rising costs, housing pressures, climate change and crumbling roads.

Through my work as CEO of the Mornington Community Support Centre, an organisation that supports locals doing it tough, I’ve seen firsthand how families are struggling to afford the basics.

I am also a local small business owner, so I understand how tough it is to keep the doors open as costs soar. I know what’s broken, and I believe we can do better.

I also know our community values fairness and equality. Every member of our community deserves to live with respect, safety, and inclusion. That’s why I stand proudly as a candidate that supports LGBTQI+ rights, as well as a women’s right to choose. As someone who regularly sees the impacts of family violence in my work, I also strongly support measures that support and protect those who are affected by it.

A vision for Flinders

I’m running because I want to create a future for Flinders where families thrive, local businesses succeed, and renewable energy lowers our energy bills and protects our incredible coastlines from a changing climate. This is the future we can create together.

Let’s make it happen!

Change takes all of us. Your support—volunteering, sharing ideas, spreading the word—can make it happen. I’m ready to stand up for our community,  and I hope you’ll stand with me.
